As we are clearly in the heart of wedding season I thought I might highlight some of my favorite Pittsburgh things to add to your hotel welcome bag! No better way to show your out of town guests a little black and gold love and make them feel welcome in the steel city.
Gift Bag
The gift bag is the first thing your arriving guests will see when they get to the hotel. The best part is that your guest will want to actually use these two bags long after your wedding.
The Basics
There are some basic items that you can provide to your guests that would be a comfort. For those who have a full night of dancing and maybe one glass of wine too many, single serve Advil and a bottle of water. A paper straw tied to the top adds a little color and you can match it with your wedding theme. Small portions of snacks such as Cheez-its, trail mix or granola bars may also prove helpful for guests that are unfamiliar with what is nearby for in between wedding events.
Hometown Heros
Obviously we want to show out of towners that Pittsburgh is the absolute best right? Why not take this opportunity to allow them to sample some of the best this city has to offer.
Zeke's Coffee- To be enjoyed long after the wedding is over
The Pittsburgh Popcorn Company-I have mentioned it before and I will again! This stuff is the best!
Eat'n Park Smiley Cookies- Iconic here in Pittsburgh. Grab boxes at your local restaurant and bag them in clear bags with colored ribbons.
Heinz Ketchup Bottle- What is more Pittsburgh than Heinz? Send your guests home with this staple and maybe they'll ditch the "fancy ketchup" they have at home.
A Personal Touch
In my opinion, one of the most important components would be a personalized message from the couple and itinerary for the weekends activities. You will definitely want to include the times of any transportation that may be provided and maybe a list of local attractions or nearby restaurants. I love these printable options from Etsy. They allow you to adhere to your theme and match your other stationary.
Have some fun picking out items that show your guests some of you and your grooms fave treats and add in some Pittsburgh faves. I hope some of these examples inspire yinz!
XO,
Julie
